Teleconferences
In the rapidly changing world, where the time becomes a crucial and scarce recource and the distances do not shorten, the advanced telecommunication systems receive the growing interest. They allow the multilateral real-time contact, reducing dramatically the travel costs and increasing the workers' productivity.
Meeting the expectations of the corporate clients, we introduce the conference rooms in Platan PBX systems. You can organise now teleconference calls for even up to several dozen of participants. Meet in a virtual conference room. Just dial in and talk.
Conference rooms and teleconferences
- Conference rooms are virtual places to handle the telephone meetings of many people (teleconferences). The teleconference participants dial the room's given number from any phone (traditional, IP, mobile) and from any place of the world. They enter the given PIN code to authorise themselves.
- People joining the conference room from the outside of the company may dial in directly or may be joined by any person, eg. a secretary.
- The number of conference rooms is practically unlimited and is not licenced; any privileged person can create from any extension (proprietary phone is not required) a new single or multiple conference room, available for meetings within a defined time.
- The number of teleconferences depend on the PBX server you have and the licences for the total number of all conferences' participants (number of teleconferences is not licenced and changes dynamically).
- The number of simultaneous participants of all the teleconferences organised in the conference rooms is licenced and equals:

Single vs multiple conference room
There are two types of conference rooms for teleconference calls in the Platan PBX systems: single and multiple.
Single conference room
Use a single conference room, if:
- you want to call a single meeting for a group of people
- you want to invite to the teleconference call both the employees from the company (working locally or remotely), as people from the outside
- you do not want the teleconference participants to talk without you
Multiple conference room
Multiple conference rooms are useful, if:
- you want to set periodical meetings of people who cannot meet in person
- you want to invite to the teleconference call both the employees from the company (working locally or remotely), as people from the outside
- you want the participants to join the teleconference call freely, leave the meeting and rejoin it at any time
- there is no use to ask again the participants rejoining the conference room for the PIN code to authorise
- as a conference organiser you do not want / need to participate in all the meetings
Other teleconferences
Apart from the licenced conference rooms in the Platan PBX systems (Prima mini, Prima, Prima nano, Proxima, Libra), the already known free-of-charge teleconference calls are still available:
- circular (up to 8 extensions)
- 1 outside user - up to 7 extension users
- 2 outside users - 1 extension user.
